The Upper Zambezi River is a renowned freshwater fishing destination enjoyed by many anglers, who will travel great distances for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. From the lodge, fishing can be done on the Zambezi River or on the lodge’s tranquil backwater. For fishing on the main Zambezi River, it is only a 5 to 7 minutes-drive to where our boats are moored on the river when the floods are down. For those staying at the lodge, without a vehicle, we can transfer guests to the river and return them back to the lodge after their fishing trip. Besides the elusive Tigerfish, the other most popular fish caught on the Zambezi are Barbel, Bream, Nembwe, Tilapia, and Largemouth. Pike fish breed amongst the water lilies of the lodge’s backwater and is the only place in the area where these fish can be caught.
Caprivi Mutoya Lodge supports catch and release.
